sandisk mp3 player
Strengths: All in all a nice unit for a first time buyer. Good sound at a fair price.
Weakness: ear phone jack broke after 2 months. Weak playback volume.
This is the first mp3 player I have owned. It does not have enough memory and with the phone jack broke I am getting my money back and getting an apple ipod with lots more memory. If you never had an mp3 player and want to see if you would like it this is an inexpensive unit to try.

a good buy, not a great one
Strengths: size, easy to use, strong FM reception, good battery life, speedy USB 2.0, multi-language support
Weakness: average design and built quality, subpar earbuds, cannot record FM radio
Pros: 1) It is small; 2) The interface is the same as that of iRiver, which is a good thing. Does SanDisk license the firmware from iRiver? 3) Very good FM singnal; 4) last at least 10 hours on an AAA rechargable. 5) USB speed: read>10MB, write>5MB Cons: 1) average design. Battery cover is a lttle loose, and it bumps out ugly. 2) included earbuds are unimpressive. I replaced it with a Sennheiser....

Small, light, and compact. I like...
Strengths: Great price for the size. Light and compact. Easy to download files and operate.
Weakness: Does not come with an attached USB plug like some other mp3 players. Everything else is pretty good.
Small, light, and compact. I like it that it comes with a clear plastic cover to protect it. Very easy to use, just plug in the USB cable and drag n drop all your mp3s to the drive, you are all set to go. Pretty basic functions but enough for a simple mp3 player. Headphones are alright but you could get better sound with more capable ones like Sony. Pretty cool function with rotating the menu to...

Sandisk mp3 player
Strengths: price, speed, display
Weakness: user interface - not as described in manual; files not played in order.
I bought the player to listen to audio books, which is a problem. This player does not play the files in alphanumeric order; it perversely scrambles them in some unknown way. I guess this is ok for music, but not good for words. But there is a somewhat easy way around it. You need to rename the files in order by padding them with 001..., 002... etc. Use the free "Renamer" to rename masses of...

I got this for a Christmas gift...
Strengths: Large amount of memory, built in FM tuner is nice to have, and the size is good for portability.
Weakness: Seems to use batteries quickly, had some problems with downloads from WalMart site.
I got this for a Christmas gift (early) and have really enjoyed it. The large capacity and small size are impressive, and even though this is my first MP3 player, I really like the controls and the built-in FM tuner. Batter life seems to go relatively quickly, but this is based on the included battery which may not be of the best quality. At any rate, highly recommended.
