Strengths: Price, easy to use, good quality, charges ipod.
Weakness: kind of bulky
I bought this unit looking for a good quality, cheap solution to listening to my ipod in the car. That is what I got. Simlpy plug in the Transpod to the the cigarette liter, slide in the ipod and go. The clarity is suprisingly good for an FM Transmitter. I highly recommend.
Strengths: It works, charges, and is easy to use
Weakness: Many parts, a little pricey
A little background first. I have a cassette deck in my car that does not like the cassette adapters for some reason. It keeps spitting them out, tried generic, Monster, Phillips, etc. I use rental cars when I go to the field for my job and most rental cars do not have cassette decks anymore. I needed a solution for listening to my iPod 60GB for these two scenarios. I tried the Griffin iTrip,...

Strengths: It mounts really nice and it charges at the same time
Weakness: How about it DOES NOT WORK in my car! At all. I tried every single station.
My car doesn't have a cassette deck, so I was forced into buying an FM transmitter. I heard from many people that they don't work, but I thought I'd give it a try, thinking they were just music junkies and couldn't deal with a little subpar sound quality. Well, I couldn't even hear a single sound. When I tuned my ipod dock into the radio station, all I heard was pure silence. Not even a little...
Strengths: Best solution so far!!
This little unit is great! It has the best sound quality of those I've tried, and believe me I've tried a bunch, all of them more costly than this. I originally wanted a wireless one but couldn't get decent sound quality. Also, then it was just banging around in my front seat and flipping off my dash since there was nowhere to put it! This unit plugs into your lighter outlet and includes...
Strengths: It's a good cheap device for your iPod.
Weakness: It's a pain to keep plugging it into the cigarette lighter.
I love the TransPod because it's so inexpensive and also chargers your iPod when your on the go in your car. It's almost like having the satellite but this is more cheaper and convenient.
Strengths: compact and easy solution for using iPod in car, clear reception
Weakness: cigarette lighter adapter could be more flexible, Nano adapter not included
The TransPod FM transmitter is a great solution for using the iPod in the vehicle. There are lots of FM transmitters on the market (Griffin, Monster, etc.) but most have wires hanging around, leave the iPod on the dash or console of the vehicle, or require you to tape or screw a mounting adapter to the dash. I must note that this is the older style of Transpod, which has since been updated. This...
